Background

Dr Surridge initially trained as a Nursery Nurse in West Kent College, gaining her qualification in Childcare and Education in 2000. She went on to study psychology at the University of Kent and returned to Gibraltar in 2003 holding the post of Assistant Psychologist, working for the GHA. This was followed by three Assistant Psychologist posts in the NHS in UK, and completion of her Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Applications of Psychology at Newman University College, Birmingham in 2008. She qualified as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham in 2013 and subsequently worked in the GHA for four years.

 

Other activities and publications

Dr Surridge regularly delivers training at different levels to colleagues, external teams, healthcare professionals and the general public. She has also carried out audit/quality assurance and worked with organisational matters and leadership.

 

Her publications range from papers in academic journals and articles published by the Department Of Health, to articles disseminated at conferences, and magazine articles. Her research and publications have resulted in achievements such as discussion in BBC Radio 4 interview; team nomination and shortlisting for a number of service awards and named as winner of the Care Trust Award in 2007.
